slumped to a third consecutive defeat under new boss Ruben Amorim, with goals from Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan earning a stunning 2-0 victory at Molineux.

United went a man down when received his second booking moments into the second half. From there, Cunha’s corner sailed straight over the head of , and the Brazilian, who was comfortably Man of the Match, laid on a tap-in for Hwang in stoppage time.

Wolves have appointed their own new Portuguese manager this month, and things are going considerably better for Vitor Pereira than they are for Amorim, whose side sits 14th in the table with 18 of 38 games played.

Here, Express Sport takes you through how each United player performed in the West Midlands…

Man Utd player ratings vs Wolves (3-4-2-1)

Andre Onana: 5

Produced an athletic save to divert Jorgen Strand Larsen’s header to safety in the first half, but should have been much stronger to stop Cunha’s corner sailing straight into the net.

Leny Yoro: 4 (booked) (Antony, 63)

Picked up a yellow after getting skinned by Cunha inside four minutes and that set the tone. Passing out from the back was poor and a thoroughly unconvincing performance on the whole.

Harry Maguire: 6

No glaring errors but Strand Larsen gave as good as he got in the aerial battles. Long passing was hit and miss. A couple of decent defensive contributions and went close with a header late on.

Lisandro Martinez: 6

United’s most composed central defender on the day, although that’s not saying a whole lot.

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC v Manchester United FC

Noussair Mazraoui: 6

Blended into the background in a misty game at Molineux.

Manuel Ugarte: 5 (booked) (Eriksen, 63)

The partnership with Kobbie Mainoo in central midfield is not working well. Ugarte was dispossessed on the edge of his own box shortly before being hauled off. Misses United’s next game after picking up a fifth booking of the campaign.

Kobbie Mainoo: 5 (Casemiro, 63)

Mainoo and Ugarte were far too easy to dribble and pass through. Wolves were able to gain a foothold in the middle of the park even before United went down to 10 men.

Diogo Dalot: 7

Tested Jose Sa with a shot from distance and created a good chance for Martinez with a well-executed header across the box.

Amad Diallo: 5 (Garnacho, 79)

Infuriated by taking a shot on when there was a chance to play him in just before half-time. Unusually ineffective display from Diallo, who has been United’s shining light during their latest sticky spell.

: 6 (Zirkzee, 79)

Fought hard and could have benefitted from better service but an awfully quiet night on the whole for the £72million man leading United’s forward line.

: 2 (sent off)

Even before scything down Nelson Semedo for his second yellow card in the 47th minute, leading to his third red card of the season, there were no positives to take from his display. As a player who should be United’s key creative influence, the difference between Fernandes and his opposite number, Cunha, was gigantic in terms of the impact they had on the game.

SUBS

Antony: 7

Seems to be taking Amorim’s guidance on board – Antony was confident, positive and direct when he came on. Hit the side-netting with a decent strike from distance.

Christian Eriksen: 6

Couldn’t unlock the Wolves defence as United pushed for an equaliser late on.

Casemiro: 6

An uneventful cameo for the Brazilian.

Alejandro Garnacho: N/A

A late addition.

Joshua Zirkzee: N/A

A late addition.
