Chris Kamara cracks up Amazon Prime viewers with hilarious line on return to TV

It didn’t take long for Chris Kamara to have viewers in stiches as he made his television return on Amazon Prime.

The popular pundit has been reunited with former Sky collegue Jeff Stelling to help cover the clash between and .

And the 67-year-old was soon back in the swing of things, joking about being asked to work at such a high-profile fixture.

“I have got the best game of the day,” he said live on air. “When Amazon rang me up, I thought they wanted me to deliver parcels.”

Updating Stelling, and viewers, on his health he added: “I’m great Jeff. To get that call, to say I was doing that game, really was the biggest fill-up ever.

In March 2022, Kamara left his role on Soccer Saturday after 24 years with Sky Sports. It followed the former and Bradford striker being diagnosed with apraxia, a condition that affects speech.

But he’s since undegone revolutionary treatment in Mexico. And earlier this month, on December 26, with Prime showing all eight fixtures live.

Following the announcement, Kamara admitted it was “surreal” to get the offer. However, he insisted the opprtunity to work again with Stelling, possbily for the last time ever, was too tempting to turn down.

“It might be one last hurrah for me in terms of covering football on the box, but to work with Jeff again will bring a bit of extra magic to Christmas for me,” he said. “Of course I’m not 100 per cent, but I’m 70 per cent better than when I first disclosed my condition in public and I feel like I’ve got the old Kammy back.

“The one thing about my job at Sky that I guarded more than anything was being spontaneous. I’ve lost that ability in a way but I’m going to try and wheel it out on Boxing Day.”

Kamara was at least given an entertaining first half to analyse at the City Ground. Both sides had chances in the opening 28 minutes before Anthony Elanga’s crisp finish put Forest ahead.
