BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt shut down by co-star as he refuses to sing live on air

BBC Breakfast star Charlie Stayt failed to receive the result he was looking for as his co-star Hugh Ferris shut down his request.

Charlie, 62, was steering the ship solo on Thursday morning (December 26) as he hosted the Boxing Day programme on his own.

Trying to keep the festive spirit alive, Charlie attempted to bring some light-hearted humour to the show suggesting that his colleague should sing a song.

As Hugh completed his sports segment, he told viewers Beyonce recently performed at the halftime NFL game and Charlie asked Hugh what song he would choose if he were performing karaoke.

Hugh replied: “I think the last song, I would doo…” But the star noticed Charlie pick up a mic beside him on the red sofa and quickly put a stop to things.
