Helen George and Olly Rix are said to have had a brief romance
Helen George, the star of , is a favourite among TV audiences for her portrayal of Trixie Franklin, who makes a comeback on One this Christmas Day.
The Sun has hinted that Trixie, who has experienced a rollercoaster of events in the series, may depart the show as her character’s recent husband, Matthew Aylward, played by Olly Rix, left at the end of the last series.
Trixie could face heartbreak once more, mirroring Helen’s own romantic challenges over the past year, including her split from Jack Ashton, the father of her two daughters and a former co-star who portrayed Rev Tom Hereward.
In a July statement posted online, Helen announced: “Some months ago, we separated. Our two beautiful girls remain the focus and I respectfully ask for privacy for this next chapter.”
Following her split from her husband, she found comfort with co-star Olly Rix, with the pair dating earlier this year after growing closer.

However, their romance was reportedly short-lived, with a source telling The Sun: “They were there for each other in the wake of their splits. But it seems they are no longer close and have made this clear by removing each other on social media.
“Olly even went one step further and deleted a picture of him and Helen from .” It came just a few months after Olly described Helen as “amazing and fantastic”.
Luckily, the pair won’t have to face each other on set, with Helen returning for the new series but Olly not, as his character moved to New York for a fresh start in the business world.
Previously married to actor Oliver Boot for three years before their 2015 separation, Helen reflected on her divorce, saying: “Going through a divorce is awful. I’d been asked to do Strictly and, strange as it sounds, I thought it would be like a sort of therapy after my divorce.

“I’d spoken to quite a few people who said how it really helped them through difficult times. You are focused on this one thing, it’s an emotional journey. I was so naive that I thought no-one would be interested in me, so that was a shock. I soon realised I didn’t want all that celebrity stuff.”, reports .
The 39 year old has been starring in a stage production of The King and I, and revealed to The Times that she related to her character’s experiences. Helen said: “She has to make this work. And it’s something that I have lived through. I am a single mother who has to be financially responsible for both of my children.”
She added: “There’s no man in my life currently, and there’s no man in Anna’s life. So I thought, this is a perfect match for me, especially now.”
Call the Midwife airs on on Christmas Day.
