Since debuting back in 1981, has become one of the most beloved British TV shows and catapulted and Nicholas Lyndhurst to fame.
The sitcom aired for seven series with 16 specials, all of which brought in millions of viewers on Christmas Day.
Writer John Sullivan’s 1996 Christmas trilogy broke TV records with audiences of up to 24 million. Its popularity even prompted John to create three more specials up to 2003.
Now, fans have ranked the greatest Only Fools Christmas specials on IMDb, with favourites like Miami Twice, The Jolly Boys’ Outing and Heroes and Villains making the list.

10. Miami Twice
The two-part Christmas special, aired in 1991, follows the Trotter brothers in Miami. There they are spotted by Mafia Don Vincenzo Occhetti, who is Del’s doppelganger and hatches a plot to assassinate him.

9. Fatal Extraction
The 1993 Christmas special begins with Raquel leaving Del, so in response, he asks out another woman. When he and Raquel are back together, Del becomes convinced that the woman is stalking him.

8. The Frog’s Legacy
In the 1987 episode, the Trotters search for the hidden gold legacy of Freddie ‘The Frog’ Robdal, an old friend of their mother. While Del hunts for the gold, Rodney puzzles over Freddy and his mother’s “friendship” – and a son who would be around Rodney’s age.

7. Mother Nature’s Son
Del discovers bottles of yellow liquid in Grandad’s allotment and finds a hidden tap when he dumps them in the reservoir. He begins selling the tap water as ‘Peckham Spring Water’ but is unaware that it has been contaminated by the same yellow liquid.
