The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says a man was killed on Sept. 22 last year.
When Langley firefighters were called to Nicomekl Park at 5281 208th St. that day to tackle a bush fire, human remains were found and the death was deemed suspicious.
IHIT took over and has “pursued a number of investigative avenues to determine the circumstances surrounding the death,” said Sgt. Freda Fong in an update on the case Tuesday.
To further the investigation, IHIT is identifying the victim as Michael Kashani of Langley.
“Mr. Kashani was 36 years old at the time and his death has left a void in his family and community, said Fong. “We believe someone out there may have information about Mr. Kashani’s death and we are interested in speaking with them.”
