The ’s long-range forecast between January 7 and 21 reads: “Confidence in this period is fairly low, but overall, slowly-evolving weather patterns are more favoured.
“Continuing from the previous period, there remains a slightly reduced chance compared with normal of wet and windy spells, with a slightly greater potential for colder episodes during the first half of January.
“While drier than average conditions are likely for many areas, some precipitation is still expected, which could lead to wintry hazards at times.
“Temperatures are likely to be close to or a little above normal overall, but this could be made up of a mix of milder and colder interludes.”
