One of Almeria most famous landmarks is the Alcazaba, a 16th-century Moorish fortress which is just a few euros to enter, offering stunning views of the city.

The colourful neighbourhood of Barrio de la Chanca is the place to wander and get lost, while Zapillo Beach and San Miguel Beach are lined with bars and restaurants to kick back and relax.

Almería was named Spain’s Gastronomic Capital in 2019, and the lively area of Las Cuatro Calles is the place to try tapas of fresh seafood, anchovies, jamón, and olives.
