is known for its beautiful beaches, friendly culture, and turbulent history. is one of Vietnam’s main sources of income and the country relies heavily on this.

Its other main source of income is as one of the world’s largest exporters in Southeast Asia.

More travellers are increasingly visiting which has established itself as a tourist-friendly destination.

English is spoken well in most major cities. Restaurants and cafes in the main tourist zones all provide English menus which is part of the country’s efforts to encourage visitors.

According to , in 2023, the total number of international visitor arrivals to Vietnam reached approximately 12.6 million.

It said prior to the -19 pandemic, Vietnam welcomed 18 million international arrivals in 2019, a record number for the country, following healthy year-on-year growth in visitor numbers since 2016.

In March 2022, the country removed its travel restrictions, hoping to assist in the recovery of the tourism sector.

Tourism has become one of the major sectors of Vietnam’s economy in recent years, with an expected tourism sector GDP contribution of over 6.4 percent by 2024.

While the flight to get there might be a bit more expensive than if you chose to holiday in Europe, once you get there.

One popular place for tourists to visit in Vietnam is a tailors as you can get a tailored dress or suit for bargain prices.

Vietnam is home to incredible natural landscapes including beaches, mountains, and deserts.

For history lovers, has lots to see. You can visit various cultural and historical sites such as ancient shrines, temples, or monuments from the Vietnam War.

Many visitors to Vietnam also visit nearby Laos and Cambodia which are also popular tourist destinations and worth seeing if you’re in the area.

One must-visit place is the Cu Chi tunnels. These tunnels form an underground system that was dug during the Vietnam War by Viet Cong soldiers as a way to move undetected and launch surprise attacks.

You can climb into the tunnels yourself and experience the tight spaces firsthand. One visitor on said: “This vast network is seriously impressive – we couldn’t believe how the Viet Cong used it as a communication system and for military strategy.

“The kids had a blast crawling through the tunnels. It’s mind-boggling to think about life underground during the war. Definitely a unique experience that got us all chatting about history. A must-do in Vietnam!”

is another place that can’t be missed – this ancient town is a charming and exciting part of Vietnam. Lonely Planet called Hoi An “Vietnam’s most atmospheric and delightful town” and there’s an exciting atmosphere to take in while you’re there.

One visitor on said: “The town’s narrow streets are filled with stores and restaurants and a lot of tourists… sounds like a nightmare but it’s actually very charming. The best time to visit is at night and see the river lantern boats which is an amazing experience.”
