Joshua Zirkzee

It might seem harsh to write him off after only a few months, but his dire displays have done little to suggest that he is good enough for a club like United. The 23-year-old has only scored three goals since joining the Red Devils and was terrible against Bournemouth, offering little in the final third and inexplicably losing his man for the opening goal. There is still time for Zirkzee to come good, but there is a danger of him following in the footsteps of Anthony Martial unless he massively improves.

Tyrell Malacia

The defender was hooked at half-time against Bournemouth and looks set to struggle under United’s new wing-back system. He offered very little attacking threat and was not much better at the back, leading to his early withdrawal.

Malacia has struggled with injury issues since moving to Old Trafford two years ago, having missed over 70 games in total. While there is a feeling that he will take time to get back to full fitness, he should not be afforded that luxury.A clean break in January would be the right course of action for both player and club, with an exit freeing up space for United to sign a better fit.

Harry Maguire

If it was going to work out for the England international at Old Trafford, it would have happened by now. The fact that he not only remains at United, but is playing on a regular basis, only serves to highlight their stagnation over the last few years.Maguire is simply not good enough for the Red Devils. He will occasionally pop up with a good performance, as he did against , but the level of consistency is just not there. He was nowhere to be seen for any of Bournemouth’s goals on Sunday and is certainly upgradable, either in January or at the end of the season when his contract runs out.
