A woman named Jo shared that soda crystals are the best item to get rid of grease and lingering stains that are tough to remove.
Jo wrote: “I used a bag of soda crystals from Wilko (quite powdery, not too crystally) and a spray bottle of water.
“Spray [the] base of [the] oven and door, pour over crystals in a thin-ish later, [and] spray again to make a damp, but thick paste. Leave overnight and remove [the] brown gunge that you find.
“Hey ho, clean oven for me and happy three-year-old that got to ‘help’, and no nasty fumes! Cheap too.”
Soda crystals are highly alkaline which means they are highly effective at cutting through acidic grease, oils and any burned stains on your oven.
Not only are soda crystals a chemical-free alternative to commercial oven cleaners but it works quickly to remove tough stains and them easier to wipe away.
You oven will be sparkling clean in time for Christmas
All you have to do is pour a generous amount of powdered soda crystals around your oven and leave it for at least 10 to 30 minutes.
Apply a small amount of warm water until it forms a thick paste and spread the paste around the greasy or burned parts of your oven.
However, if you prefer and are worried about stubborn stains then you can try leaving the solution overnight to give the soda crystals even more time to break the stains down.
Once the time is up, use a damp scrubbing brush to wipe away the loosened grease and grime.
Rinse the oven with clean warm water to remove any leftover residue, and your oven will be sparkling clean just in time for the holidays.
