The location of ‘ Christmas speech has been revealed, and surprisingly it’s not a royal estate.

The King chose the Fitzrovia Chapel, a former hospital chapel in Pearson Square, Central London, as his recording venue.

It’s believed that to contemplate global, national and personal trials, emphasising the power of community support in overcoming these hurdles.

Scheduled for broadcast at 3pm on Day, the King’s message is expected to reflect on a remarkable year marked by his and his daughter-in-law Princess Kate’s cancer diagnoses.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the chapel, the for those who work in healthcare and underscore the importance of community.

It’s understood that Charles was eager to film his at an external location, rather than Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle, bringing a more modern touch.

The Fitztrovia Chapel is described on its website as “an enchanting jewel of Byzantine inspired architecture”. Crafted by John Loughborough Pearson, the chapel boasts over 40 varieties of marble and a resplendent golden mosaic ceiling.

It’s a non-denominational chapel, a detail believed when choosing a filming location.

Today, the chapel continues to serve as a place of worship, while also hosting weddings and civil partnerships, community gatherings, concerts, fashion shows, and exhibitions.

The monarch’s Christmas message has been an integral part of the royal calendar since King George V undertook the first live address in 1932.

However, it was who cemented this tradition, delivering a message every year of her reign bar one. In 1969, she issued a written message due to the scheduled repeat of the behind-the-scenes documentary “Royal Family”.

The King’s past Christmas addresses have been recorded at St George’s Chapel and . His late mother often chose to deliver her festive messages from either Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace or Sandringham.
