Environment Canada says series of storms are approaching B.C.’s coast, with the largest to arrive on Dec. 25
The nation’s weather agency has issued a special weather statement warning of a big storm expected in Metro Vancouver on Christmas Day.
The winds will start on Vancouver Island on Monday afternoon and sweep across the Strait of Georgia and Strait of Juan de Fuca before clearing on Tuesday morning.
On Christmas Day, “a powerful frontal system arrives on the south coast and Vancouver Island early Wednesday morning. Very strong winds and heavy rain are expected to last until late in the evening.”
This will affect Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminster in particular.
A weaker low pressure system will approach Vancouver Island on Thursday evening and spread strong winds across Vancouver and the south coast.
