GMB viewers were delivered some breaking news
Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Ed Balls delivered some breaking news to viewers this morning, halting the show in the process.
The pair announced that the UK economy has flatlined in the third quarter of 2024, with Ed Balls saying ‘that’s not great’ to Kate Garraway.
Following Rachel Reeves’s controversial Budget, a number of business leaders are warning of ‘worst of all worlds’ to come as the GDP failed to grow at all between July and September.
One of the Labour Government’s key policies was all about growth, however according to the Office for National Statistics this has been revised down from 0.1% growth.
Alpesh Paleja, the CBI’s interim deputy chief economist, said to LBC: “There is little festive cheer in our latest surveys, which suggest that the economy is headed for the worst of all worlds – firms expect to reduce both output and hiring, and price growth expectations are getting firmer.

“Businesses continue to cite the impact of measures announced in the Budget – particularly the rise in employer NICs – exacerbating an already tepid demand environment.
“As we head into 2025, firms are looking to the Government to boost confidence and to give them a reason to invest, whether that’s long overdue moves to reform the apprenticeship levy, supporting the health of the workforce through increased occupational health incentives or a reform of business rates.”
In other news, weather reporter Laura Tobin said that the UK will not be seeing a White Christmas this year.
Reporting live from Horesham, the broadcast meteorologist gave the weather forecast but confirmed that things will be mostly dry and bright in the east with rain moving into the west but turning milder.
