The underrated UK seaside city named one of the best places in Britain to visit in 2025

known for its incredible coastal views and strong sense of identity has been crowned as one of the best places in Britain to visit.

Aberdeen in Scotland has been given the title by Conde Nast Traveller and while it might not appear to be a huge – you won’t be disappointed if you take a trip there.

The city reportedly has a “surprising food movement” and over the past year its streets have gained a reputation for being a hub of culinary genius.

According to Tripadvisor, some of the top restaurants in the area include The Old Schoolhouse, Old Blackfriars, The Atrium and Monsoona Healthy Indian Cuisine.

The boasts a huge variety of places to eat with visitors enjoying the diverse and much-loved food options in the area.

While you’re there, you should visit Aberdeen Maritime Museum which provides an insight into the history of its sea-based industries, from the boom of the city’s fishing industry in the early 20th century to its oil industry today.

You should also visit the Duthie Park Winter Gardens which are known for their incredible displays of flora and fauna.

“The botanical gardens feature multiple glasshouses, housing a wide variety of plants. It is a hidden gem in the city for enjoying peace and harmony.”

Another historical is Slains Castle which was built in 1597 and is one of the most famous castle ruins in Scotland. It was used by author Bram Stoker as the inspiration for the castle of the vampire in his most famous supernatural tale Dracula.

A visitor on said: “The best castle! It is in ruins but still beautiful! Such beautiful views. You can climb on it and get great photos.”

Other areas of the UK named as the include Bradford, Derbyshire, Manchester, Penrith, Portrush, Stratford East Bank, Leyton & Walthamstow, South Hams and Sussex.
