The UK’s most generous seaside town has been revealed, and surprisingly, it’s not in the North.
GoFundMe has released , detailing the areas of the country that have donated the most throughout the year.
Topping the list of cities overall was , which had the highest number of donors per capita in the UK.
This was largely down to its response to and following riots, which ammassed donations from over 55,000 people.
In terms of seaside towns, only one made the top 10 list, taking the number eight spot: Eastbourne.

The town is famous for its 19th century pier featuring a 1930s bandstand.
The gorgeous sandy beach which stretches for over three miles in front of a variety of hotels, restaurants, and attractions that see millions visitors drawn to them every year.
Further south are the impressive chalk cliffs of Beachy Head and striped 1902 lighthouse situated in the South Downs National Park.
Outside of the UK, Ireland was the most generous country in 2024, with more than 640,000 people donating and over 16,000 fundraisers.
was the top country donating to fundraisers outside of the country, and was home to the most generous donor, who donated more than 1,300 times.
