This year’s carol service also took place at Westminster Abbey on Friday, December 6, and came at the end of a challenging year for the Prince and Princess of Wales. It marked the fourth annual event planned by Princess Kate and came as part of her phased return to royal duties post-chemotherapy treatment.

Kate’s children and William were present alongside her, joined by stars such as Richard E Grant, Paloma Faith, and Gregory Porter, with Sir Chris Hoy delivering a reading to the 1,600 attendees.

In a heartfelt revelation at this year’s event, Kate, 42, confessed that during last year’s carol service she “didn’t know” what 2024 would bring.
