They may begin to wilt, to crisp up, or even droop if you’ve watered it too much.
Being able to absorb far less daylight can also present challenges for houseplants.

“It’s an affordable tool that can ensure your home is a thriving, green oasis throughout the seasons.
“During winter, leaves often lose their colour due to less sunlight. Epsom salts can promote lush, green leaves by upping the magnesium levels.”
According to the expert, a yellowing of the leaves could indicate a magnesium deficiency.
To combat this, dissolve one teaspoon of salts in a jug or watering can and use this solution to water plants once a month.

Epsom salts also contain sulfur which can play a vital role in root development, helping a plant take up nutrients.
Elise continued: “Stronger roots will help plants withstand seasonal stresses. Simply sprinkling some Epsom salts around the base of the plant before watering thoroughly ensures the sulfur reaches the root.”
Certain plants which could benefit from this include poinsettias and Christmas cacti, as they bloom in the winter months.
When using Epsom salts on these winter-flowering plants, owners can expect to see “long-lasting, vibrant blooms”.
The plant pro added: “Magnesium also improves nutrient absorption. It ensures your plants get the most out of their soi including nitrogen and phosphorus, and if you use fertilisers, the Epsom salts can be a helpful addition to your care routine.”
It’s important not to overdo this, though, and make sure to test with a small amount first.
A bag of Epsom salts can be purchased for as little as £3, and you only need a tablespoon once per month.
