Two people killed in car crash in Burnaby

The crash happened early Saturday at Boundary Road and Forest Street.

Two people are dead and another person is injured after a two-vehicle crash in Burnaby early Saturday morning.

Police were called out shortly before 5 a.m. to a collision at Boundary Road and Forest Street.

RCMP say one vehicle was travelling west on Forest Street when it was struck by a vehicle driving north on Boundary Road.

Both people in the car that was hit died, RCMP said Saturday.

The driver of the other vehicle has been taken to the hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Northbound traffic on Boundary Road is closed and will be for several hours, RCMP said shortly after 9 a.m.

No details have been disclosed about those killed in the crash, and the cause has not yet been determined.
