Red Force is the world’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster
The world’s tallest and fastest is only a few hours away from the UK and measures at a staggering 112 metres high.
The Red Force rollercoaster at the Ferrari Land near Barcelona wasn’t always top of the list, it followed behind Six Flags Great Adventure’s Kingda Ka in .
However, following its closure, the Spanish rollercoaster managed to bag the top spot as the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the world.
A train on the ride can carry up to 12 people in six rows of two, and once it sets off, riders are taken from a speed of 0 to 112mph within five seconds.
It then ascends a whopping 112 metres, twisting those on board 90 degrees to the left. The brakes are then slammed as the train lands on a flat section before going up a small hill and finally bringing the ride to an end.

People queue for hours to go on the ride
The thrilling ride was built in 2017 and manufactured by Intamin, the same company that designed and built the renowned Stealth ride at Thorpe Park.
It reportedly cost a staggering £80 million to build.
But it seems as if this ride is also very popular, as many visitors on TripAdvisor mentioned the long hours they had to spend queueing up just to get on the ride.
One visitor mentioned: “Red force is the main attraction but with queues of two hours it’s a joke.”
Another one said: “My husband and son are the adrenaline junkies and were desperate to go on Red Force, which they absolutely loved. They waited in the queue for just over an hour at about 8pm. So that part was ok.”

Six Flags are planning to build a record breaking ride
The Ferrari Land theme park is part of a wider complex called PortAventura World, which manages three theme parks, six hotels, a convention centre, and an RV park.
The entertainment resort also features the Shambhala rollercoaster, which was Europe’s tallest rollercoaster prior to Red Force.
However, while the ride may have also recently stolen the crown from the Kingda Ka ride, the Six Flags Adventure theme park has said that a “multi-world-record-breaking launch roller coaster” will be built in its place, meaning the ride could be knocked down the ranks soon.
