Since its debut in 2013, has remained a firm favourite among viewers as millions tune in to watch the observations of its hilarious sofa critics.
The unlikely TV show concept proved to be a major hit as a celebrity spin-off was later launched alongside international versions in countries such as , and .
UK fans were treated to a rare glimpse of Gogglebox’s filming set-up as Welsh star of her transformed living room.
In a , she revealed there were two softbox lights towering over the TV, directed at the sofa where she and her housemate Mirain Iwerydd share their thoughts on programmes.
Mel also shared that the broadcaster also provides a smaller TV, to watch the dedicated shows on, which was placed in front of her own and next to a camera.

The comedian went on to shed light on more filming secrets from curious fans including one who asked: “So they don’t watch it on their TVs?? What??”
To which Mel responded: “It’s so that everyone’s eye lines are consistent.”
Another viewer questioned the crew’s locations during filming and probed: “Do the people who set it up stay while you watch the programmes?” before asking about the show options.
The Gogglebox star shared: “They’re in another room, so it’s not too intense. The team choose what we watch so that everyone is reacting to the same shows.”

Mel and Mirain will star in the Gogglebox Special
Mel went on to reveal that she and Mirain will feature on the upcoming Welsh Christmas Special, which is scheduled to air on Friday, December 27.
Mirain who is also a popular radio presenter and hosts Radio Cymru shared her excitement about starring on Gogglebocs ‘Dolig.
“It will be my first celebrity show and I can’t wait, it will be a lot of fun. Gogglebocs ‘Dolig will be no different to what we normally do when we’re relaxing in front of the TV.”
