Lesley Joseph confessd “I don’t know how much longer I have” in a tragic admission.
The actress, who shot to fame as man-eater Dorien Green alongside Linda Robson and Pauline Quirke, confessed that a return to her show roots might be out of the question due to her advancing years.
The 79-year-old, who will turn 80 in 2025, isn’t planning to depart this mortal coil just yet – especially as her own mother lived to an incredible 103 years old.
But chatting to The Mirror, Lesley said: “I don’t think I’ll return [to Birds of a Feather], no. At my age, I don’t know how much longer I have in this business. I’m fit as a flea but there are a few other things I’d like to do before I retire.”
She added: “The older I get the more frightened I become of forgetting my lines and making a fool of myself in front of an audience. I think I’ll know when the time is right for me to retire, but it’s not today.”

Lesley Joseph made a tragic admission
Lesley is busy keeping in shape with exercise and dashing across London, and keeps her brain in gear by continuing to work. She revealed in 2019: “The secret of ageing carefully and properly is exercise, both mental and physical.”
Along with practising yoga, Lesley “walks everywhere”, confessing she’ll often get off the Tube a few stops early and walk to her final destination.
She’s following in the footsteps of her mum, who only stopped playing badminton when she turned 90. Lesley said: “Sometimes I can’t believe how old I am because I’ve got so much energy.”
Her mum lived to 103 – and Lesley isn’t slowing down either
But in a heartbreaking addendum, she said: “I’m still ambitious but I know my time is limited. So I would rather do something I’ve never done before.”
Speaking of her mum, Lesley said: “She died just short of 104. She gave up badminton at 90, played tennis beyond that, and was line dancing 96. She was an amazing woman.”
