certainly lived up to its name this week, as a team of contestants unearthed a “hidden gem” that left antiques expert Raj Bisram stunned.
The red team, comprising Nathalie and Karl, made a staggering profit on their item, having been tasked with finding a lucrative fashion accessory.
Meanwhile, their opponents, Adam and Jemma on the blue team, were challenged to find a profitable item with a Chinese theme. Both teams impressed by finding two items within 20 minutes, leaving them 40 minutes to make their final purchase.
Raj, 68, was amazed by their efficiency, commenting: “This is probably one of the easiest teams I’ve ever had. Twenty mins down, two items. It’s a walk in the park what else can I say.”
Nathalie and Karl initially bought a Swedish vase for £15 but seemed to be holding out for something more valuable, as evidenced by their next purchase – a 1970s vintage Omega gentleman’s watch for £130. They also picked up a Clarice Cliff mustard pot for £20, despite it being lidless.
In contrast, Adam and Jemma’s main purchase was a military periscope costing £80. When Tim laid eyes on the Omega watch, he exclaimed it was the “height of fashion”, as Nathalie and Karl doubled their investment, earning £260 from their original £130 outlay, reports .
