Top 10 Christmas movies ranked in new British poll and Love Actually isn’t No 1.

It’s that time of year again when we put on our festive favourite movies, and there have been some real crackers over the decades. Now, a new survey of 1000 Brits conducted by has discovered the UK’s Top 10 favourite films after participants were asked to select three. Check out the full list below, which included Love Actually in second place to an American classic.

10. The Snowman (1982)

This 26-minute animated TV film is a British classic based on Raymond Briggs’ 1978 picture book of the same name. The story follows a young boy’s snowman coming to life and taking him on a flying adventure to meet Father Christmas. The dialogue-free short features Howard Blake’s iconic song Walking in the Air sung by a young Aled Jones.

9. The Polar Express (2004)

Robert Zemeckis’ motion-capture fantasy stars Tom Hanks in multiple roles across a story set on Christmas Eve. The film follows another young boy (but this time an American) who boards a magical train to the North Pole to meet Santa Claus.

8. A Christmas Carol (any version)

There are over 300 Film and TV adaptations of Charles Dickens’ redemptive ghost story of Ebenezer Scrooge. From the silent era through the Muppets to Jim Carrey, this timeless tale is an annual must that reminds us of the heart behind the Christmas season.

7. Miracle on 34th Street (1994)

This remake of the 1947 original stars Richard Attenborough as a New York department store Santa Claus. However,he introduces himself as Kris Kringle and believes he is the real thing, leading to a court case to determine his mental well-being.
