After a five-year hiatus, fans are eagerly awaiting their return to Barry Island for the latest updates on the cherished characters of With the Christmas special just around the corner, the cast shared insights with about what the audience can anticipate.
Yet, , who stars in the show, delivered a bittersweet update, confirming that this will be the final appearance of the ensemble on He stated emphatically: “It’s definitely the last time you’ll ever see them, no question.”
Ruth Jones, known for her role as Nessa, hinted at potential emotional turmoil ahead, reinforcing James’ sentiment by saying: “When you see this episode, you’ll go, ‘There’s nowhere to go after this'”
Back in the Good Morning Britain studio, presenter Sean Fletcher expressed concern over Ruth’s foreboding words, suggesting to his colleagues: “It makes you think something sad is going to happen!”
However, co-host Adil Ray held onto hope, countering the notion of a definitive end by asserting: “There’s always a way to go, there’s always a way.”

James remarked: “We’ve really tried our best to deliver something we hope will be satisfying. I feel very, very lucky to of had an idea with a friend at a time when a show could go on and mean something like this to so many people.”
In anticipation of the upcoming finale, James expressed his excitement on the programme about fans seeing them for the last time. Joanne Page chimed in: “I’ve read it, I’m in it, I filmed it, but I feel like an audience member as well!”

A synopsis reveals: “Bryn’s packing the Picasso in readiness for a trip to Essex; Stacey and Gavin are looking for new ways to spice up their seventeen year marriage and Gwen is behaving most strangely. Nessa’s started a new business venture and Neil the Baby’s about to begin an apprenticeship with his dad.”

Radio 2 listeners will be in for a treat on Monday 23rd December as Ruth Jones and James Corden will be doing a special A Gavin and Stacey Takeover live on air. From 6:30-9:30am, listeners will hear the duo ahead of the finale, as they’re joined by some special guests.
