Equipped with a down-force package, it reached 60 mph from zero in 2.3 seconds, and covers the quarter-mile in 9.6 seconds
- The 2025 Corvette ZR1 with ZTK Performance Package hits zero to 60 mph in 2.3 seconds
- More than that, it ran the quarter-mile in 9.6 seconds at 150 mph (241.4 km/h)
- Chevy claims it’s the fastest production car ever built by an American automaker
The ’Vette uses a twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre flat-plane-crank V8 that churns out 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm; and is capable of a top speed of 233 mph (374.9 km/h). In addition to it being the most powerful factory Corvette, Chevrolet says it’s also the most powerful V8 ever made by an auto manufacturer, and the fastest production car ever built by an American automaker.
In testing, the ZR1 with ZTK ran a quarter-mile in 9.6 seconds, topping the non-ZTK version, which takes 9.7 seconds to get there. Chevrolet said all tests were done with 93-octane pump fuel, and on a non-prepped drag strip surface.
“The 2025 Corvette ZR1 yet again exceeded our expectations,” said Josh Holder, chief engineer for Corvette. He added that the top speed record of 233 mph is “unrivaled by any current production car priced under (US)$1 million.”
