The latest big freeze is on its way and heavy snow is coming with it.
A massive 400-mile is to sweep Britain this weekend in the
courtesy of WXCHARTS have turned various shades of purple and white, indicating that large parts of the UK could be hit with festive flakes just days before Christmas.
The first snowfall is estimated to arrive at 3am on Sunday, December 22. Some parts of Scotland could see a whopping 4cm—6 cm of the white stuff fall per hour.
Scotland is barely even visible on . The country is predicted to be blanketed with snow; key cities, including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, are predicted to see heavy snowfall.
Elsewhere, the North West, North East, Yorkshire and the Humber could all see a maximum of 3cm of the white stuff fall per hour.

Heavy snow will start to fall during the early hours of Sunday.
Weather maps predict the snow will significantly worsen throughout Sunday morning.
North and mid-Wales will not miss out on catching some festive flakes, with 2cm of snow predicted. However, the likelihood of this sticking is unknown, as the country is also forecast to have heavy rain showers.
At 6am the snow shows no signs of easing off and is in fact predicted to only get worse meaning areas across the country could draw back the curtains on Sunday morning and uncover a blanket of snow.
Stirling in Scotland is forecast to receive a snow dumping of 8cm, whilst the Scottish Highlands will see 6cm of snowfall per hour.
The snow will significantly worsen in the North West. Liverpool is predicted to have 4cm of snow every hour.
The white stuff will also go down as far as Birmingham and Swansea.

Snow depths are estimated to reach 12cm in parts of Scotland.
London, the South East and the South West may miss out on seeing snow but will instead be blessed by a wall of rain.
As we reach midday, the North West and East Midlands will see snow depths increase, while the Scottish Highlands will see 9cm of snowfall per hour.
Snow will also remain in North and mid-Wales.
At midnight on Monday, December 23, snow depths will reach an incredible 12cm in the Scottish Highlands and 8cm in the Stirling area.
Separately, in the ‘s long-range weather forecast for this weekend, the forecaster predicts it will become “increasingly windy with gale force winds in the north with some wintry showers.”
