Keir Starmer will be grilled by the Liaison Committee
Sir Keir Starmer is about to face down his first grilling at the hands of the infamous House of Commons Liaison Committee.
The harsh showdown is usually a tri-annual tradition, where the fields questions from the most senior committee chairmen on a number of crucial topics.
It will either show up the Prime Minister’s grasp of detail around his job, or shine a light on areas of failure.
The Liaison Committee is formed of the men and women who chair parliament’s other select committees, meaning those asking the questions are experts in their departmental fields.
Today’s 90-minute session will focus on growth and the economy; public services and plan for change; and global affairs and security.
