Labour and Tories have an even bigger threat than Musk supporting Reform

Farage will succeed with or without Musk millions

The media class is up in arms at the prospect of world’s richest man offering the mother of all cheques to ‘s Reform UK.

True, the money could be a game changer as the insurgent party steams into next year’s local elections with a view to setting itself up for a massive push at the next general election.

With a war chest like Musk could offer, Farage – whose party is already coming second in some polling – would be well positioned to elbow out the and Labour in what are fast becoming three-way marginal constituencies up and down the country.

Truth be told however, Farage doesn’t need Musk’s millions to do this.

Don’t miss…

Reform UK is already storming ahead, with ‘conservative’ voters out in the country seeing in Farage’s party the Real McCoy – rather than a pale imitation – when it comes to issues like migration.

Smelling a fraud a mile off, voters are no longer sold on an increasingly discredited Conservative Party while Labour’s lacklustre performance has led to just about the shortest honeymoon period in political history.

Hot on Labour’s heels as well as those of the , Reform is offering viable small government, patriotic and strong borders policies versus a Tory-Labour nexus which has converged in so many ways.

Yes, a massive donation from Musk would help professionalise Reform, enabling a mammoth ground campaign for the next general election and giving the party a huge chance to blast past its current tally of just five MPs.

But, again, Reform is charging ahead with or without Musk, and frankly will continue to pick up backers and donors as it does so. Nick Candy becoming Reform UK Treasurer is just one example of that.

Should Labour amend donation rules to stop Musk (and to be clear there are very legal ways for Musk to donate this money) it would send a huge signal of desperation and fear about what Farage and Reform represent.

Labour and the should instead ask themselves why they are not attracting huge backers and blockbuster membership growth.
