Kay Burley could be appearing on GB News, according to rumours

Burley has been at for the past 35 years, but a report that she could be leaving her early morning show Breakfast With Kay sparked suggestions that she might be switching channels. She quickly clarified that although she is leaving for more than three weeks to holiday in the Seychelles, she will be back at her current role from January 16.
However, some fans are speculating that the budget needed to secure such a big name could threaten the future of their favourites on GB News, as they quizzed who might be facing the cull.
Mark Dolan has already confirmed he’s been “permanently relieved of duties” at the channel, while Matt Goodwin has been hired. Meanwhile, is also set to leave the show, with Ellie Costello amping up her role to appear five days a week in future.
One fan commented: “Rumour has it Burley will be joining. If true, to afford her contract, less popular, low-viewership programs will have to be trashed.” Another chimed in: “Why on earth are @GBNEWS employing Burley? Madness!”

At this stage it remains a rumour: GB News have been approached for comment but are yet to make a formal announcement.
However, there’s another concern as some fear that Burley could be too left-wing to be relatable to GB News viewers, due to her previous support for – a party most of the current presenters have been consistently critical of.
One took to X to question: “How on earth would Burley appeal to anyone who watches GB News?”
Another asked: “Has she abandoned her allegiance to the Labour party?”

“I, for one, will never watch Burley so it’s fool’s errand if they employ her,” exclaimed a third.
Others suggested that hiring her could be the “final nail” in the coffin, as they fear GB News is “nearing the end”.
A GB News spokesperson made a statement about the changes yesterday, confirming: “Ellie Costello will now co-host GBN Breakfast five days a week, presenting alongside on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and with Stephen Dixon on Thursday and Friday.
“Stephen and Anne Diamond will continue to co-present GB News Breakfast at Weekends.”
