Both the 5.7L V8 and supercharged 6.2L V8 will be on tap

In a fit of news that’s music to the ears of any gearhead, and with all apologies to Mark Twain, it would seem the death of Chrysler’s venerable Hemi V8 has been greatly exaggerated.
In fact, there have been a quartet of special edition models created to mark two decades of Hemi madness in the Durango, including the SRT Hellcat Brass Monkey, SRT Hellcat Hammerhead, SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet, and the R/T 20th Anniversary edition. Remember all that when you’re bidding on the things at Barrett-Jackson 30 years from now.
Dodge says this news is thanks to overall demand and customer feedback but it’s equally likely the brand is just using up a warehouse of parts before this model, like the Charger/Challenger, eventually gets shuffled off to that great yard in the sky. The days of being able to purchase a fuel guzzling SUV with 710 horsepower and enough space to haul the mail (because Canada Post sure won’t) are rapidly coming to a close thanks to stifling regulations and doe-eyed sandal enthusiasts hellbent on saving every single baby seal in existence. Get ‘em while you can, folks.
Through the first three quarters of 2024, Dodge delivered a total of 5,321 Durango SUVs, about a thousand fewer than the same time frame last year. Models of the 2025 model year Hemi-powered Durango are currently available for ordering at Canadian dealerships.
