One woman, Tracey Parsons, tested the technique and wrote: “The stains haven’t budged on this cup for seven years.

“I saw on here a few weeks ago that mould and mildew remover is a game-changer for removing tea stains from cups instantly.”

She continued: “Thought I’d try it, I sprayed it into the cup and washed it out 20 to 30 seconds later. I was amazed. It worked like magic. I love this stuff.”

Tracy also shared before-and-after photos of the cleaning process, which made the cup look like new.

Inspired by her success, another cleaning enthusiast, Rebecca Frazer, tried the method on her husband’s cup and achieved similar results: “I’ve just done this on my Hubby’s cup! Thank you! It’s come up like new.”

Fans of have also put forward various tips including magic sponges, soda crystals and Milton sterilising fluid.

Linda Donald stated: “Damp magic sponge cleans it perfectly and you don’t need no chemicals.”

Sarina Caravelle shared: “I use half a teaspoon of soda crystals, pour hot water on, five minutes later, wipe and rinse.”

Leah Trevorrow remarked: “Milton is also amazing at doing this. Mine went in seconds. So good. I used it on my partner’s work mugs.”
