There are currently long delays on the M5
The M5 in Gloucestershire is currently closed in both directions due to a serious incident.
All traffic is being held on the major motorway between junction 11A for Gloucester and junction 12 for Quedgeley.
A serious incident was reported at about 4.45pm this afternoon.
Gloucestershire Police are currently at the scene and National Highways Traffic Officers are in attendance, assisting with traffic management.

Diversion route released
Road users are advised to follow the Solid Circle diversion symbol on road signs
Exit the M5 southbound at J11A onto the A417.
Continue on the A417 eastbound to the first exit at Brockworth.
Take the 4th exit on the roundabout to head back westbound on the A417.
Continue on the A417 westbound to the roundabout with the A38.
Join the A38 and continue southbound towards Quedgeley.
Re-join the M5 southbound at J12.
Police called to incident on M5
Gloucestershire Police say: “We’re are at the scene of an incident on the M5 southbound carriageway between junction 12 and 11a.
“We were called to the location shortly after 4.20pm and the carriageway is closed while emergency services are in attendance.”
The M5 is closed in both directions
