Amanda Holden is well known for looking her best, but how exactly does she maintain such an impressive look?
, the 53 year old mum of three and judge, is a master of self-care. Despite her busy schedule, she always finds time for rest, relaxation, and a variety of treatments and rituals to maintain her wellbeing.
When asked about her beauty secrets, Amanda once confessed: “I’m a fan of various creams and potions, too, and lots of water (and wine!), but really I think it’s down to genetics. I’m up for anything, though nothing invasive.”
However, it’s not just good hydration and flawless genetics that give Amanda her toned physique and glowing complexion. There are actually 10 specific things that the star does to ensure she retains her radiant glow.
So what exactly keeps Amanda looking her best?
Yoga
One key feature of Amanda’s lifestyle is health friendly yoga. The BGT star developed a love for this low-impact exercise while recovering from the death of her son seven months into her pregnancy, and following a traumatic birth with daughter Hollie, reports
Amanda has shared how yoga played a pivotal role in her recovery journey, saying: “I’m so grateful to my body after what it has been through. I got into yoga because after Hollie was born I’d been on a ventilator and I had a lot of lung problems. Kundalini yoga is all about breath work, so I took it on to build my strength. A lot of people advised me to do it for calmness, too. I don’t really sit still, I’m always on the go.”
She also noted the physical benefits, adding: “The chanting is really fun, but it’s tough. There’s one exercise called the Breath of Fire which is great for abs. But it’s also a good pick-me-up when you’re tired – honestly, it’s better than a cup of coffee! My body got strong and any excess fat disappeared. It’s definitely made my tummy flatter.”
Besides yoga, Amanda is an avid runner and has completed several challenging hikes, including ascending Snowdon in 2022.
Amanda likes to undergo lymphatic drainage to help perfect her appearance
Lymphatic drainage
In terms of wellness treatments, Amanda has tried the SLIMYONIK fat burning treatment at D.Thomas Specialist Skin Clinic in London, a painless procedure involving a high-tech BodyStyler suit that provides a pressurised massage to promote lymphatic drainage, as she documented online.
Indulging in beauty procedures may not be for everyone’s wallet, with sessions tipping the scales at £100 a pop and requiring at least four sittings. Yet fear not, avid beauty enthusiasts – there is a DIY alternative that won’t break the bank!
Gua sha stones or even simple hand techniques can be used to perform manual lymphatic drainage at home, whisking away unwanted fluid and inflammation from the lymph nodes.
When it comes to her diet, nothing is off limits for Amanda – so long as it doesn’t involve meat
Healthy eating
When it comes to maintaining a svelte figure, Amanda is clearly doing something right, given her impeccable form. Ditching extreme diets for more practical, well-rounded nutritional habits seems to be her modus operandi.
She once candidly shared with the : “You have to enjoy life. I had a friend once who didn’t make it to her 50s and her biggest regret was that she spent her life on a diet. I think a little bit of everything is fine.”
Embracing life fully, Amanda quips, “Life’s too short to do fat-free, sugar-free, alcohol-free. I don’t believe in half-fat anything, I have full-fat yoghurt, butter and cheese. And I splurge on the weekends. I love wine.”
Even with a penchant for indulgence and moderation, Amanda has eliminated all traces of meat from her diet since the age of 13 – a conscious choice made after learning of its animal origins and her compassion not to cause harm.
Amanda previously revealed she detoxes every year before Britain’s Got Talent
Detoxes
has also opened up about her yearly detox escapade that precedes the show’s filming. Every year, just before the cameras roll, Amanda takes a refreshing trip abroad to get into prime shape for the upcoming season.
Preferring Portugal for her retreats, she confessed it’s been a positively impactful tradition, comparing it: “It’s really good for your mindset, rather like unplugging your computer and plugging it back in.”
During these wellness sojourns, Amanda also indulges in a thorough detox, aiming to rejuvenate her body before facing the demanding schedule of the talent series. Speaking to , Amanda attested: “I try to detox twice a year for health benefits, one of them being before the BGT live shows. I’m used to it now so don’t experience any bad side effects. I really feel a great benefit. My skin glows, eyes are brighter and there is some weight loss but the most important thing is my mental state.”
Amanda has sworn off cosmetic surgery, but has had some non-surgical tweakments
Medical grade tweakments
Embracing alternative beauty treatments, has shifted from getting botox injections to more subtle, medical-grade ‘tweakments’. She has become an enthusiast of gentler cosmetic procedures, such as CollagenWave facials and Morpheus8 treatments performed by beauty guru Nilam Holmes.
Sharing her skincare journey on social media, Amanda wrote: “The other week before filming started on the @bgt live shows, Nilam suggested I try a new natural treatment called Morpheus8 ! The results have been absolutely amazing. I’ve noticed a real plumpness to my skin and it’s much tighter! “
CollagenWave is described as a natural alternative to anti-wrinkle injections and fillers, but does come with a hefty price tag of around £130 a session, with a course of six typically recommended for the best results. Morpheus8 meanwhile, combines radio frequency and micro-needling to reduce fine lines and scarring – but this unique combination is a far bigger financial investment, with single treatments ranging between £500-£2,000.
Discussing her decision to opt for non-surgical treatments, Amanda previously told : “I’d never be able to go under the knife because I have a skin condition which means I overproduce scar tissue, but I’m all for anything to make anyone feel better. If they invent something that doesn’t involve a knife I’ll definitely be having it in the future. I was quoted as saying I’d never use Botox again – what I actually said was: “Never say never”, but I haven’t had any for months.”

We’ve also redone our garden and it’s starting to look wonderful. A staycation is definitely more appealing now! I’ve stayed positive by thinking of all the good stuff, like us being together and enjoying good health.”
