O’Neal had the luxury sedan converted to a two-door so it could better offer the type of legroom required by a 7’1″ human
- Shaq now counts the world’s first one-off Lucid Air coupe amongst his vast car collection
- The luxury sedan was modified by West Coast Customs to accommodate the man’s 7’1″ frame
- It’s not the first custom car that’s been built to Shaq-like specifications
When you’re a 7-foot-1-inch-tall (2.16-metre-tall) former NBA superstar with untold gazillions in yer bank account, chances are good you can choose to drive whatever you wish. Shaquille O’Neal already has an impressive garage — but his latest addition is something really special.
Of course, the mountain man known as Shaq needs more leg- and headroom than most, a consideration rumoured to be a big driving factor behind this conversion. Large coupe doors aid ingress and egress significantly — and Shaq needs all the space he can get. Beyond the major structural surgery, the Lucid was also painted to match his custom Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Because why not?
Additionally, the Lucid badge has been swapped for one which reads “Diesel,” a name Shaq has been using for ages, especially when he feels like spinning a few tracks on stage. It was also the title of his rap album back in 1993 (#TheMoreYouKnow). Superman shields also appear on those wheel centres, which a video reveals are stationary so they are always upright. No photos have yet surfaced of the interior, but one can be assured the driver’s seating position is generous. Any back seat, if it exists, is surely more cramped than stock.
