The letter was found pinned to a resident’s new car
A woman from was surprised and “annoyed” to find a note stuck to her car windscreen from a station that closed years ago – then she realised it was part of a “petty” campaign by a neighbour targeting cars on the street.
Flori Mi, who lives on South Clifton Street in the seaside town of Lytham, spotted the letter attached to her new car this week after parking it a few doors down from her home and leaving it overnight.
The letter claimed to be a ” notice” stating that the road was “access only”, with only residential parking permitted.
It read: “The only vehicles allowed to park on the road are belonging to residents from this road along with residents’ visitors,” before adding: “Thank you for your co-operation in this matter” and signing off as the Lancashire Constabulary.
Flori’s surprise was less at the contents of the note and more at the letterhead, which claimed to be from Lytham Police Station – a local branch that closed over two decades ago.

Flori Mi says she has argued with a ‘neighbour from hell’ over parking before
She believes it was printed out by a “neighbour from hell” along the stretch with whom she’d had disagreements in the past.
She thinks they must not have recognised her new car and decided to go to extreme lengths to get rid of it.
Flori told Express.co.uk “I was annoyed but also found it funny that they were being so petty.
“I knew who did it because they’ve shouted at me not to park there on two separate occasions before because it’s near their house. It’s always the same guy.”

Lytham is a pretty seaside town on the Fylde coast in Lancashire
The Lytham local alerted Lancashire Police, who reportedly confirmed they hadn’t send the note and told her it appeared that someone was impersonating an officer.
Offenders convicted of impersonating the police can be jailed for up to six months under the Police Act of 1996 – but Flori says she hasn’t made an official report and will only take action if she is targeted again.
