was flooded with support as she announced some exciting career news.

The presenter, 61, is swapping TV for radio as she is taking to the airwaves on Christmas Day. Jane revealed she will be playing her favourite festive hits for listeners and will share some of her funniest memories from the holiday season.

On , she wrote: “I’m so excited to be back on Radio 2 for Christmas Day again this year. Make sure you tune in wherever you are as we’ll have all the festive cheer you need… with all the trimmings.

“I’ll be playing all my favourite hits of the season including Wham!, Shakin’ Stevens, with Ed Sheeran, Mariah Carey, Brenda Lee, Nat King Cole and a few silly songs thrown in too! I’ll also be sharing funny memories and heart-warming stories of Christmases gone by.”

Jane confirmed that her slot will kick off at 12pm on Radio 2 on Christmas Day.

The TV icon was inundated with supportive messages from her followers, with one writing: “Perfect for whilst I’m cooking dinner.”

A second gushed: “Thank you Jane. Loved your tour in Edinburgh this year. Can’t wait to listen on Christmas day again. Last Xmas was a super show. Can you play your own Christmas song too. It’s got beautiful lyrics. Love you always.”

A third said: “Just saw you in the Palladium Panto and you were fabulous. So definitely will join you Christmas Day while sitting the lunch out.”

Another echoed: “Omg! So glad you’re on Xmas day! Me and my sister had you on while cooking last year! We had a right laugh! Can’t wait for round 2 xxx.”

The announcement comes after Jane made her debut as Maid Marion in the opening of Robin Hood.

The London Palladium Pantomime

The pantomime show kicked off at The London Palladium on Thursday evening (December 12) and saw Jane perform alongside her co-stars Julian Clary, 65, Nigel Havers, 73 and Marisha Wallace, 39.

The singer looked sensational in her costume which boasted a dramatic shimmering gown complete with gold cape.

The production was watched by a number of stars, including This Morning’s Alison Hammond, 49, Strictly judge Shirley Ballas, 64, and Vanessa Feltz, 62.

After she took a bow on stage following the stellar performance, Jane headed to the after party in a gold sequinned blouse and tailored black trousers.
