Tiramisu is a dessert with some of the most indulgent flavours: cream, cocoa powder, coffee and sweet sponge.
The authentic is an that bakers have replicated many times worldwide. But it’s a time-consuming to follow.
Those craving the delectable flavours of tiramisu can still whip it up from scratch, even if they’re against the clock, says Jonny England, coffee expert at .
He told Express.co.uk: “Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert that typically combines soft sponge cakes dipped in coffee and brandy or liqueur with powdered cocoa and mascarpone cheese.
“If you make the traditional Tiramisu , you could end up having to spend a good couple of hours in the kitchen but with this easy cheats tiramisu , you can have a homemade, delicious, and impressive dessert in less than 20 minutes!”

Jonny says his unique has a simple hack that ensures the richness of the coffee comes through. After all, it is a dessert known for its coffee flavour.
He explained, “The hack is to use fresh coffee rather than instant coffee combined with a liqueur. This adds smooth richness without having to splash out on a bottle of alcohol, and it means you’ll avoid the bitterness of instant coffee in this tasty dessert.”
Easy tiramisu recipe
Ingredients
- 250ml heavy double cream
- 50g granulated Sugar
- 250 ml fresh brewed coffee
- 100g lady fingers
- Two tbsp instant hot chocolate powder
How to make tiramisu
Add the cream and sugar in a large mixing bowl and beat until stiff peaks form. This is the creamy base of the tiramisu.
Dip the ladyfingers in the room-temperature coffee and line them on an 8×8 inch tray.
Top the ladyfingers with half of the cream mixture, smooth it out and add another layer of lady’s fingers dipped in coffee.
Add the last layer of cream mixture. Dust with instant chocolate powder and refrigerate for three hours or overnight. Serve and enjoy.
