The machine-washable material is a blend of flannel and sherpa fleece, although be sure to detach the controller and its cord before sticking it in the wash. It’s already keeping plenty of  nice and warm, with 4.4 out of 5 stars averaged from 8,863 ratings so far.

“The blankets wash really well and look nice when in use or loosely folded. There is a good choice of colour to match with room decor,” said one five-star review.

“I’ve owned this for over a month now, and I’ve been using it non-stop since the colder UK weather has arrived, and honestly I couldn’t be happier with this heated blanket!” said another five-star review. “It’s soft, cosy, heats up extremely quickly.” A third added: “Absolutely love this heated throw, it’s so warm and cosy. Not everyone is convinced, however. “Good for taking the edge off but not really for keeping you warm. It’s not stiff like some blankets but perhaps that’s because there’s less heating element. It’s soft but beware, the inside fleecy white sherpa sheds!” Another said: “I don’t usually write comments, but I thought I should warn people that this blanket sheds. I wore black jeans and jumper when I first tried it and was unpleasantly surprised that it left loads of white fluff on them.”
