Max Verstappen leaves Lewis Hamilton in the dust as Red Bull star’s 2024 earnings emerge

It wasn’t just the drivers’ standings where left Lewis Hamilton trailing in his wake in the 2024 F1 season. The driver secured his fourth straight world championship, holding off the challenge of ’s to eventually finish 63 points clear.

In his final season with , Hamilton ended up down in seventh, a huge 214 points off the Dutchman.

The British icon is hoping to revive his title credentials at next year, but it’s not just the points department where he has been shown up by Verstappen this season.

It made him the highest paid star on the grid for the third successive campaign. Hamilton was some £15m behind his rival, widening the gap from 2023 which was just short of £12m.

Verstappen registered nine Grand Prix wins this year, somewhat short of the 19 he notched as he dominated proceedingslthe previous season. Hamilton took the chequered flag twice, his first victories since his infamous title battle with Verstappen in 2021.
