ITV set for huge Christmas Day ratings blow despite BBC schedule backlash

is set to dominate viewing figures for – leaving rival broadcaster in their smoke. Both of the TV channels have released their full TV schedules for the festive season.

ITV will see some regular viewing, such as GMB, Lorraine and This Morning. The soaps, and , will also be shown as normal with some big storylines expected to draw in fans.

But it is the with some special viewing that is expected to see the most watched programmes of the day. The broadcasters will be airing some much-anticipated shows such as the finale of Gavin & Stacey and ‘s Christmas special.

Bookmaker Coral’s John Hill said: “The last ever instalment of Gavin and Stacey is the most anticipated show of the year. We not only expect it to win the Christmas Day ratings but we think it could be the most watched programme of 2024.

“The are likely to dominate the ratings, with the King’s Speech, Wallace and Gromit and all at the top end of the betting.”

Currently the odds of Gavin & Stacey being the most-watched show on December 25 fall at 1-14. Meanwhile, The King’s Speech is 8-1 with the firm to top the ratings, Wallace and Gromit is 12-1, while is also available at 12-1.
