This, of course, means that living in Windsor is not cheap. The average house price in Windsor reached £569,000 in September 2024, while private rents averaged £1,683 per month.

Many of the houses come with stunning views of Windsor Castle and the surrounding park.

As far as the town itself is concerned, Windsor has plenty to offer.

The town has many great places for shopping and dining. Eton College is also located just across the River Thames and educated Princes William and Harry.

The town is also great for tourists with annual events such as the Royal Windsor Horse Show and the world-famous Royal Ascot, welcoming visitors from around the world.

The town’s wealth is also reflected in average salaries. The average salary for men in Windsor and Maidenhead is £51,900, while women earn an average of £40,200.

For comparison, in 2024, the average annual salary for men in the UK was £40,035, compared with £34,000 for women.
