The 40-year-old, who , has been reportedly criticised for failing to include the two major figures in his life who were”huge advocates” for the sport. But a royal commentator noted the Duke of Sussex is “stuck between a rock and a hard place” as his strained relations with senior members of the Royal Family may have seen him criticised even if he did make a mention to his father and grandfather in the programme.

Polo explores the elite world of the sport that Harry has played for many years. In their fourth project to have been released as part of their multi-million-pound deal with , Harry and his wife – who are both noted as executive producers of the series – in the first and final two episodes.

Speaking on the latest episode of the , Mail on Sunday editor Charlotte Griffiths said: “…the Polo community, which I know, have been slightly critical of it saying they haven’t done enough references to Prince Phillip and King Charles, because they were huge advocates and did wonders for the sport back in the day and they are synonymous with the sport, so they were quite surprised that Harry didn’t do a nice nod to his father, you know, a picture of him flashed up from his Polo playing hey-day.

“But, of course, [Harry] couldn’t [as] he’s stuck between a, what’s it called, a rock and a hard place.”

Another royal commentator taking part in the programme, Richard Eden, also noted Polo appears to be catering for an American audience, who may not have appreciated a reference to the role British royalty has played in the game.
