Jude Law has revealed that he delayed unveiling his star on ’s Walk of Fame because of the tragic death of his mother Maggie.
Speaking to , the acclaimed British actor said: “It’s been actually quite a long process because I found out and was originally going to have the service a couple of weeks back.
“And actually, I lost my mum. So we had to delay it. But in a very odd way as a kind of final gift, it meant that a few more of my family could actually be here.

“So honestly, the whole event has been quite an emotional experience, and obviously just a very personal occasion and really touching.”
Law, known for his roles in The Holiday and as the young Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts series, praised the strength his family have given him.
He shares Rafferty, 28, Iris, 24, and Rudy, 22, with former wife Sadie Frost. He also shares Sophia, 15, with Samantha Burke; Ada, nine, with Catherine Harding; and two young children with his current spouse, Phillipa Coan.
His eldest three children made a rare public appearance with their father as they joined Law for photos during the ceremony.

Reflecting on their support at the emotional Walk of Fame event, Law said: “They were just lovely. I mean, they’re always so supportive and loving.
“We are very lucky to have each other, but they’re my backbone.”
While Law did not specifically mention his late mother’s death in his ceremony speech, he did say that his parents had fostered his love for cinema from an early age.
He added: “I had a mother who showed me the great silent movies and comedies and musicals and dramas of the Golden Era, American new wave [and] foreign movies.
“And I had a dad who took me in the 70s and 80s to blockbuster movies where we ate our bodyweight in popcorn and chocolate.”
