Charlie Dimmock ‘won’t tell anyone’ how much she earns and needs financial advice

Charlie Dimmock has said that she refuses to disclose her fortune publicly and needs regular financial advice.

While the Garden Rescue star’s love life has been public knowledge – she dated viticulturist John Mushet for 13 years before they split in 2001.

Shortly after, Charlie had a brief relationship with Ground Force microphone operator Andy Simmons – but one thing fans have been curious about is the star’s net-worth.

Charlie, who is currently single, is estimated to be worth a staggering £7.1million, according to Wealthy Genius. However, don’t expect her to confirm it.

“I’m okay with talking about how I spend it, but I don’t tell people how much I earn,” she previously told The Telegraph.

When asked if she was cautious with money, she replied: “Yes I am. I live alone so I don’t have too many costs, but my financial adviser tells me I’ve got far too much cash in my current account.

“He keeps saying ‘Don’t leave it there – over a 10-year span you won’t get as much money as if you invest it.” She also revealed that she’s occasionally frivolous with money, hence the need for the advisor.

“I’m generally good [with money], but I can be a bit irresponsible. I bought an outrageous pair of shoes, for example – some strappy gold stilettos with a tiny diamante on the corner that cost me £200.”

Speaking of cash, recently the beans were spilled on the . A woman who appeared on Garden Rescue claimed there’s a hidden fee that participants are obliged to pay to feature on the programme.

Recounting her experience of the show on , she mentioned there were ‘certain requirements’ you had to fulfill before being approved to participate – including having £3,000 in cash.

She disclosed: “You have to show proof of at least £3,000 to spare on the garden transformation because it comes out of your pocket.”

Charlie rose to fame in the 1990s alongside fellow garden legends Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh on Ground Force.

Ground Force came to an end in 2005, but Charlie has continued to work on various prominent garden shows, including Garden Rescue, which is broadcast at 3.45pm on One when the series is running, with various episodes still available on the iPlayer.
