BBC Strictly’s JB Gill shares late Queen’s confession about JLS – and he didn’t believe it

The iconic pop group JLS soared to fame after their 2008 triumph, clinching second place behind Alexandra Burke.

Following that launchpad, they churned out numerous top ten smash hits, selling in excess of ten million records, bagging two BRIT Awards and building a staggering £24million fortune.

As they continued to global stardom, the band was honoured to play at ‘s Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012, an occasion that left them with an unforgettable Royal encounter.

star , recalling the experience with magazine, revealed a surprising confession that the late Queen made about the band.

The 38-year-old told the publication: “Meeting the Queen was amazing, she told me that she watches JLS on the TV while she eats her dinner.”

Sceptical at first, the band was astonished when the Queen astonishingly detailed their hits: “We didn’t believe her – we thought someone had told her what to say to us – but she named our songs! We were blown away.”

Tonight (December 14) the singer is performing in the final of alongside Lauren Oakley.

JB was originally partnered with , however, the professional was forced to pull out after suffering an injury to her foot.

The dad-of-two will be performing for the final time alongside fellow finalists and , and Aljaž Škorjanec and and Vito Coppola.

The four finalists will each perform three routines – a Show Dance, a Judges’ Pick and a Personal Pick – as they aim to lift the coveted glitterball trophy.

JB and Lauren will perform their Show Dance to a medley of famous Motown songs before recreating their number from Musicals Week, dancing the Viennese Waltz to ‘Let’s Go Fly a Kite’ from Mary Poppins.

Their other routine will be the Samba to Sergio Mendes’ ‘Mas Que Nada’.

After making it through to the final, JB shared an emotional post as he thanked fans for their support throughout his journey.

He wrote: “Thank you to EVERYONE who’s supported me on this journey. I couldn’t have done it without you! And now it’s time for one last dance. One shot to make it count…and I CANNOT WAIT.”
