Princess Kate during Trooping the Colour
The is renowned for her elegant style and dress choices that capture the world’s attention. This year we have seen the 42-year-old step out in show-stopping ensembles that have elevated her presence in the fashion world.
Despite Kate having one of the toughest years to date in the public eye, she has remained popular with members of the public in the UK and abroad. And I believe her keen eye for colour that glows against her charm and sophisticated poise played a role in this.
Following her cancer diagnosis, , which required her to rest and recover in private.
Thankfully, she announced at the end of the summer that she had ended her treatment and would now focus on remaining cancer-free and gradually resume her public duties. A few weeks later, her husband added for their entire family.
Her comeback has been huge, and I believe she has taken a leading role within the to become the matriarch of fashion after being the perfect Queen in waiting. Despite appearing only a handful of times in public this year, the Princess of Wales has been able to showcase looks from high street to luxury fashion houses and even jumped on one of the biggest trends of this year.

She went on to put on another dazzling display during the summer, when she made a surprise visit to the Wimbledon Men’s final in a stunning purple dress that paid tribute to the tennis tournament.
During the winter, she has attended several high-profile events which included two Remembrance engagements. At the Festival of Remembrance held at the Royal Albert Hall, Kate showed that she could also rock affordable designs.
Instead of digging around in the royal vault for a necklace that cost millions, she wore a Monica Vinader necklace that was less than £190. This move was incredibly significant as not only the brand is committed to sustainable fashion, which would no doubt be a huge attraction to eco-conscious Kate, but it also showed how relatable Kate’s fashion choices can be, with the Princess not being afraid to wear pieces that the public wears too.

Earlier this month, Kate stepped out in the colour of the season – burgundy. Many of her family took inspiration from and copied over the weekend, including Zara Tindall and .
She looked perfect when she was photographed during the state welcome to the Emir of Qatar and his wife.
Meanwhile, at her Tother at Christmas carol concert, she re-wore a £2,900 Alexander McQueen coat that she has had for years but up-cycled it by adding the biggest trend of the season – a chic bow.
Stylist Ciara Russell told Express.co.uk: “Bows are incredibly popular this year, and as a fashion icon, Princess Kate often incorporates current trends into her wardrobe when they align with her elegant style.”
Adding: “She has a talent for choosing pieces that are both trendy and timeless and the addition of bows adds a feminine and polished touch that suits her perfectly.”
