is a time for indulgence, and what better way to indulge than with a rich, chocolatey dessert?

One home has been sharing a collection of sweet and savoury festive treats, including a show-stopping yule log perfect for the Christmas Day dinner table.

The yule log, a classic French known as Buche de Noel, typically consists of a sponge cake similar to a Swiss roll.

However, home cook Megan has put a twist on the traditional by using brownie instead of cake in a recent post, reports

To make it even more decadent, Megan adorned her yule log with various chocolate treats, including Cadbury Milk Chocolate Spread, Flakes, and plenty of Dairy Milk.

Megan’s video has already racked up an impressive 200,600 views, with many praising her for the delicious .

Cadbury filled and topped Brownie Yule Log 1. Start by melting the butter and chocolate together in bursts in the microwave. 2. Whisk together the eggs and sugar for a couple of minutes. 3. Fold the chocolate/butter mix into the egg mixture. 4. Sieve in the flour & cocoa powder and fold gently 5. Pop in a lined tray and bake in the oven at 180°c for around 30 minutes – or until a toothpick comes out clean and not gooey. I used 9×9 tray. 5. Leave to cool and then slice/break apart and mix with a stand mixer or whisk to make a dough. 6. Line a tray with cling film and press down the brownie mix and flatten as much as possible. 7. Add filling of choice – I used Cadbury milk chocolate spread. 8. Gently roll the brownie up. 9. Leave to set in the fridge – 2 hours minimum but I left it overnight. 10. Melt around 300g of chocolate of choice in small bursts – I used dairy milk 11. Use a utensil of choice to create the log look. 12. Decorate with toppings of your choice. I used 1 flake and 4-5 snow balls crushed .

Cadbury Brownie Yule Log

Ingredients

For the brownie

  • 250g unsalted butter
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 100g milk chocolate
  • 6 eggs
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 100g plain flour

For the filling

  • 4-5 tbsp Cadbury spread

For the topping

  • 300g melted Cadbury Dairy Milk
  • 1 Cadbury Flake
  • 4-5 crushed Cadbury Snow Balls

Method

Start by melting the butter and chocolate together in bursts in the microwave. Whisk together the eggs and sugar for a couple of minutes.

Fold the chocolate and butter mix into the egg mixture. Sieve in the flour and cocoa powder and fold gently

Pop in a lined tray and bake in the oven at 180°c for around 30 minutes – or until a toothpick comes out clean and not gooey. Megan used a 9”x9” tray.

Leave to cool and then slice/break apart and mix with a stand mixer or whisk to make a “dough”.Line a tray with cling film and press down the brownie mix and flatten as much as possible.

Add filling of choice over the brownie. Gently roll the brownie up. Leave to set in the fridge for a minimum of, but it can also be left overnight.

Melt around 300g of chocolate of choice in small bursts. Use a palette knife to create the ‘log’ look.

Decorate with toppings of your choice. Serve and enjoy!
