Outnumbered star reveals the unexpected prop they took home and burned

Outnumbered star Hugh Dennis has shared details of a prop he decided to take home and “burn” from the famous set.

The 62-year-old, who has played dad Pete Brockman in the popular British sitcom since its first launch in 2007, will reprise his role for a Christmas special.

Joining him will be the original stars from the series. which include Claire Skinner as mum Sue, Tyger Drew-Honey as eldest son Jake, Daniel Roche as the middle child Ben and Ramona Marquez as daughter, Karen.

Now much older, the show will focus on what it’s like for parents Pete and Sue raising children who are now young adults.

But as the cast reflected on their time on the show, they were asked if there was anything they decided to keep from the set as a cherished memory from when they starred in the show years prior.

Reflecting on her time on the show, Marquez said: “Now I come to think of it, I think Pusscat belonged to Guy’s daughter. They let us keep some of the clothes when we finished so I gave them to younger family members who would then watch the show on TV and say I’m wearing those pyjamas, it was quite cute.”

Actress Skinner then shared: “Most of the clothes Sue wore were my own.”

Dennis then added: “I remember Pete having a pair of cargo shorts I took home and burned.”

For the new special, fans will have another surprise to look forward to as eldest son Jake will have a child of his own. The actor has revealed that there will be a new addition to the family, which means that Pete and Sue will be grandparents.

Drew-Honey said: “Jake absolutely adores his child and is very much in love with the mother of his child but he has been having struggles with fatherhood as any parents of small children can relate,” he told the .

“Especially the lack of sleep and his daughter’s tendency to impersonate animals.

“If I had to compare her personality to either Karen or Ben when they were younger, I’d say she’s got more of a Ben personality. She’s got some of the genes that Ben and I got from Dad.”
