fans are already eagerly awaiting an ‘incredibly impressive’ new series, despite a substantial wait still to go until it airs. The upcoming show, The Residence, invites viewers into the heart of a murder mystery with a staggering 157 suspects, revolving around the efforts of one highly unusual detective.
Uzo Aduba, acclaimed for her standout performance in steps into the shoes of Detective Cordelia Cupp, a Metropolitan Police Department consultant revered for her sharp wit and dogged commitment to justice.
Described as the world’s premier detective, her unrivalled knack for reading people puts her at the centre of a gripping investigation within the iconic White House. But can she deduce the culprit?
She won’t be alone as Randall Park joins her as Special Agent Edwin Park from the FBI, pairing up in a high-profile State Dinner assignment. Despite his reservations about her unorthodox techniques, their partnership adds another layer of fascination to the central enigma, reports .
Teasing the show’s premise, a brief overview reads: “132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion.”
The Residence will also feature a star-studded cast including Giancarlo Esposito, Edwina Findley, Molly Griggs, Jason Lee and Ken Marino. Al Mitchell, Dan Perrault, Bronson Pinchot, Julieth Restrepo, Mel Rodriguez, Susan Kelechi Watson, Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Mary Wiseman are set to appear in the forthcoming series.
However, fans will have to exercise patience as the show is slated for a March 20th premiere next year. Despite the wait, anticipation is already building online. A sneak peek of Uzo Aduba and Randall Park in character was shared on ‘s official Twitter, sparking excitement among followers.
